Prior to it’s acquisition by Johnson and Johnson Pharmaceuticals and his retirement, Dr. Douglas Pon led Crucell Vaccines Inc. in Coral Gables, Florida, and served as Vice President of External Alliances at Crucell NV. He was responsible for developing and executing strategic growth plans through external partnerships. Prior to Crucell, Doug was Assistant Vice President of Worldwide Business Development Strategy and Innovations at Pfizer, following its acquisition of Wyeth Pharmaceuticals. He joined Wyeth in 2006, overseeing global licensing and business development for the Vaccines, Anti-infectives, and Nutritionals Business Units. Doug holds a Ph.D., M.Sc., and B.Sc. in Pharmacology from the University of Toronto. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles at Merck, focusing on licensing and collaborative research in oncology, vaccines, and other therapeutic areas.
